Achievements

⦁ Networking The Organization designed a strong network with the Buikwe District Local Government, BUDIDU, NUDIPU and other CSOs: ADD International, International needs Uganda, Bicycle Sponsorship Project, Buikwe District Talents Zion, Health Initiatives Association, World Vision-Buikwe District, and Father's Heart Mobility Ministries among others. has structures at Lower Local Government (Sub-county, Parish levels to Village Levels).

⦁ Economic Strengthening Employment BUDINU advocated for Twenty (20) PWDS to access formal employment and thirty 30 PWDs helped to access informal employment.

⦁ Purchased an incubator The Union purchased an incubator to facilitate the poultry project among PWDS and as well bring income from those without a disability.

⦁ SACCO Bridge of Hope Disability Network Uganda opened up a SACCO in the names of Buikwe District People with Disabilities Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD with the intention of giving simple loans to PWDs and DPOs in Uganda with low interests and in favorable working periods. It was noticed that financial institutions do not give loans to PWDS assuming that they won't be able to pay back with the interest just because of their status and sometimes they don't possess security as per the Bank Loan guidelines.

⦁ Lobbying and Distribution of Mobility appliances Following the(3)three lobbying/advocacy meeting with Buikwe District Disability Union we lobbed and received 492 wheel chairs and 37tricycles and distributed to PWDS of Buikwe District. See copies of pictures attached.

⦁ Education Following the Advocacy workshop from NUDIPU and its partners at Nile Hotel, attended by the Chairperson and the Secretary, The Organization managed to help two blind children to access formal education at Salama School for the Blind in Mukono District and two epilepsy girls accessed a two years Nursery Teaching Course at Kyetume Technical College of Business Studies free (full bursary).(20) See evidence papers attached.

⦁ Health Bridge of Hope Disability Network Uganda advocated for 2 Disabled children and accessed good health services. Through the Buikwe District Local Government and Health Initiatives Association the children well operated at Mulago Hospital and they are currently enjoying good life. Bridge of Hope Disability Network Uganda advocated for adjustable delivery beds that would favors women with disabilities in the Buikwe District and where brought at Kawolo Hospital the only Government Hospital we have in the District.

⦁ Agriculture The Organization started a piggery Project with 15 animals and we currently started distributing piglets to PWDs in Buikwe Town Council and we are planning to cover the three Districts of greater Mukono. as we expect more 50 Sows from Operation Wealth Creation Program. The Organization distributed 3000 banana tisues to 1000 Persons with Disabilities.
