GENERAL CHALLENGES

Lack of resources for mapping of the actual number of beneficiaries because the National census takes ten years (10yrs) yet the population keeps on changing. It's hard to plan for what you don't know.

Inadequate resources to form and sustain VSLAs for economic strengthening Stigma and discrimination is still high in Uganda that is why PWDS have NOT being included to have in both Government and Private Developmental Programs.

Lack of transport to monitor and evaluate implemented projects/Activities of the Organization and those of Government in line with PWDS.

Inadequate funds to empower PWDS in different Core Programs.

There is Low awareness on human rights and this has made advocacy /reporting hard from village, Parish, Sub-county, District to National Levls.

Both private and Government Structures (buildings) are not accessible for PWDS.

RECOMMENDATION

Mapping of PWDs in the District/National to know the current statistics and their specific needs for proper planning.

There is a need for training in stigma and discrimination reduction to improve on reporting and advocacy.

More sensitization on human rights awareness among PWDS in different Districts.

Lobbying of fund to form other VSLAs and sustain them with the aim of economic strengthening.

Setting up an Income Generating Project to facilitate the monitoring of the PWDS work in the District/National.
